At a decisive moment in history for global competitiveness, Europe is redefining its investment strategies in research and innovation, in part to assert its strategic and technological autonomy. The initiative represents a high-profile forum for dialogue between European institutions and key players in the national research system.
The meeting aims to analyze the evolution of current funding instruments and to outline guidelines for the future of European research. At the heart of the debate: the integration of Horizon Europe funds with the European Competitiveness Fund, the optimization of synergies between funds, and the simplification and strengthening of public-private collaboration. A unique opportunity to discuss Italy’s positioning in research and innovation and to address the priorities that will guide the transition toward the future programming of European funds for research and innovation.
Following the public session, a workshop will be held exclusively for the Regions and Autonomous Provinces and their respective R&I ecosystems, with the aim of exploring the activities carried out by Italian Regions in Brussels within networks dedicated to R&I. Based on the outcomes of the seminar and workshop, a joint document will be drafted on the topic “The New European Landscape of Research and Innovation Funding.”
