JoAnn began her career in 1986 as a Bankruptcy Attorney, primarily representing debtors in Consumer Bankruptcy. In 1988 she joined the office of the United States Trustee as a Staff Attorney in the pilot office, whereshe managed Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and investigated bankruptcy fraud. She left in 1993 to financially restructure Bancroft Cap Company in Chapter 11 and revitalize her family’s 100-year-old hat manufacturing company. Once completed she served as the Chapter 13 Standing Trustee from 2001-2007 where she was President of the National Data Center and became involved in a national program educating mortgage servicing companies on the risks of servicing loans within the Bankruptcy system. In that role she was a frequent keynote speaker at mortgage servicing conferences and became an expert in managing risk associated with servicing loans in bankruptcy. Select Portfolio Servicing, Inc then hired her as Vice President of Bankruptcy and Contested Foreclosure. She was a Managing Attorney for McCarthy Holthus where she managed a Chapter 11 national program. She has recently taken a role at Sagent Lending as a Director of Product Management where her main focus is software development, focusing on the default product, specifically bankruptcy and foreclosure. In that capacity she is focused on modernizing and developing software that is compliant for all court standards and minimizes risk to mortgage servicers in servicing loans in default.
